This little girl is named Clementine. Notice her puffy cheeks and very skinny arms; her feet are puffy too, with pitting edema. These are tell tale signs of Kwashiorkor which is a kind of malnutrition that occurs specifically because of protein deficiencies. She wasn't well at all upon admission but now she is starting to crack a smile.
